BJP MLA from Musheerabad Dr K Laxman today officially assumed charge as the Telangana BJP president.
Amidst the chanting of Veda mantropacharas, Laxman took charge in the State BJP office at Nampally.
The BJP central leadership had recently announced the name of Laxman as the new BJP chief for Telangana.
Union ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatraya, national secretary Muralidhar Rao, ex-President Kishan Reddy, other party MLAs including N V S S Prabhakar and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, and other leaders attended the function amidst slogans by Party workers.
On the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu expressed hope that the Telangana BJP would emerge as a force to reckon with under the leadership of Dr Laxman. He called upon the Party leaders and workers to strive for the strengthening of the party in the State.
