Addressing a gathering at Azampura in Old City, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the Muslim community in Telangana was independent-minded, having taken the middle path and refusing to go along with theory of a united Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the leaders from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region, however, sneaked in their plans of usurping the wealth of Telangana by first agreeing to respect the 'Gentleman's Agreement', and then gradually imposing their will on the the people of Telangana.
The TRS chief alleged that the Seemandhra leaders had robbed the rich Muslims and other Telangana people, and destroyed the culture of the region, the people's free spirit and their heritage.
The TRS President also promised that the first Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana would be a Muslim, apart from 3 to 4 cabinet ministers from the community.
He also promised that a resolution would be passed in the Telangana Assembly which would provide 12% reservation to Muslims.
