The Justice B N Srikrishna concluded the fourth phase of its consultations in the state, on Wednesday. This leg of its trip to Andhra Pradesh saw the panel meet TDP leaders in three different groups, including a
pro-Telangana group and a pro-United-AP group. The Samaikyandhra JAC also was part of the meetings.
Justice B N Srikrishna and V K Duggal interacted with the press on Wednesday, and said that it was not the political parties that were important to the Telangana consultation process, but the points of view of the common public. They stressed that parties must be kept aside for the moment.
The interaction in this phase of their talks saw leaders present facts related to issues including poverty and development. According to the Seemandhra politicians who met the Telangana committee on Wednesday, the Telangana region has developed more than the rest of the state, in areas like education and health. The region's development did include the result of efforts of the people of Andhra and Seema, along with those of Telangana, they said.
The Telangana committee will visit the state again on the 15th of this month for three days, as part of the 5th stage of consultations. During this phase, the panel will interact with leaders from the Congress.
The next stage of talks will witness interactions of the Telangana committee with NGOs and other groups and organizations.
