SKC Is A Failure: TDP

Telugu Desam Party leaders are of the opinion that the Srikrishna Committee has failed to point out a clear solution to the Telangana issue.
Hyderabad | 6th January 2011
`Telangana Telugu Desam Forum Convenor Nagam Jardhan Reddy on Thursday stated that the report submitted by the Justice Srikrishna committee on the situation in the state has failed to come out with a crystal clear verdict on the Telangana issue.

Talking to media persons after staging a protest at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial statue at Gun Park, the senior Telangana leader demanded that the centre agree to the 5th option given in the recommendation of the report.

Janardhan Reddy said that the committee wasted crores of rupees, and suggested 6 options without giving a clear view on Telangana state, and thus confused the people.

A senior TDP leader, Devender Goud, said that the TDP would announce its stand on Friday after thoroughly studying the committee's recommendations.

TDP MLA Yerra Balli Dayakar and Janardhan Reddy said that the Telangana leaders would announce their future course of action after convening an emergency meeting with the TDP President, N Chandrababu Naidu.

"We will decide whether to resign from our posts or fight under the TDP on Friday," said Yerra Balli Dayakar.

Another TDP MLA, Motukupalli Narsimhulu, said that the committee had wasted a year, and that it failed to give any clear verdict on the Telangana state issue.

He said that the committee's recommendations failed to respect the sentiments of the Telangana people, and that the people now face a dilemma.
