Justice Prevails: Kavitha After Liquor Case Verdict

A Delhi court discharged all 23 accused, including former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and the Telangana Jagruthi founder.

In a significant development, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi today delivered a key verdict in the sensational Delhi Liquor Policy case, granting relief to several prominent leaders.

The court discharged all 23 accused persons, including former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Telangana Jagruthi founder and former MP K Kavitha, and 20 others in the case.

The court reportedly rapped the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for lapses in the investigation, stating that there was no cogent evidence against the accused and that the voluminous chargesheet contained several lacunae not corroborated by evidence or witnesses.

Speaking to the media after the verdict, Kavitha expressed relief, and said that her faith in the judiciary had been strengthened.

"What I have said repeatedly has now come true. I said that I would come out of the liquor case like a washed pearl, and I did. I have said many times that this case was filed as part of political vendetta, and it has turned out to be true today," she said.

She also said that the case had caused hardship to her and her family over the past few months. "Thank you to all those who stood by me during these difficult times. I will continue to work for the people with greater enthusiasm," she said.

She added that she spoke to her mother soon after the verdict was delivered.

Kavitha criticised those who had spoken inappropriately about her before the court's decision. "From the beginning, I told the people of Telangana that I had no role in this case. My faith in the judiciary remains intact," she said.
