Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today appreciated Mohammed Ishrat, a B Tech graduate from Nizamabad hailing from a poor family who underwent free training under the central government's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramina Kaushal Yojana (DDUGKY) and got herself a high-paying job.
Ishrat was trained for 6 months at the Jagruthi Training Welfare Centre as part of the scheme and got a Rs 6.6 lakh per annum job through campus selection.
Sahaja, another girl from the centre, also received a high-paying job offer, of Rs 4.8 lakhs per year, from Synopsis.
The two girls met the minister at the Secretariat, where he appreciated them for achieving top jobs with good pay packages.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that under the DDUGKY scheme free training and accommodation were being provided to students, and that thousands of students had benefited from the programme so far.
He also appealed to the other youth and graduates in the state to make good use of the training being offered by the government free of cost and get good jobs for themselves.
Dr Venkateshwar Rao, Secretary of the Jagruthi Educational and Welfare Society, added that out of 240 students 150 had received jobs upon completion of training with them, and that 45 others were awaiting placement.
