Judge Arrested For Taking Bribe & Granting Bail

ACB officials arrested Metropolitan Additional Sessions judge Radhakrishna Murthy for taking Rs 7 lakhs for granting bail to an accused in a drugs case.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested Metropolitan Additional Sessions judge Radhakrishna Murthy today.

The ACB sleuths raided the houses of Murthy and two other lawyers simultaneously. The judge was facing allegations that he took Rs 7 lakhs as a bribe for granting bail to an accused in a drugs case.

The ACB officials also filed cases against the lawyers for acting as middlemen between the judge and the accused.

The arrested lawyers - Srinivasa Rao and Satheesh Kumar - and the judge were produced before the ACB Special Court.
