In a setback to the Telangana TDP, former minister and prominent TDP leader K Vijayarama Rao today joined the ruling TRS, in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
KCR welcomed Vijayarama Rao and felicitated him with a shawl.
Rumors had been doing the rounds for the last one month that Vijayarama Rao, who had also worked as the CBI director, would join the TRS.
Political analysts were speculating about the former IPS officer joining the TRS after Information Technology minister and the Chief Minister's son K T Rama Rao called on him last month.
Following this, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu made attempts to persuade the ex-minister to stay with the TDP, but the efforts failed to produce the desired result, as evident from today's events.
