Veteran Telugu film actress Jayasudha today denied news reports that she was joining the BJP on August 21.
She also made it clear that she did not have any plans to contest in any elections.
However, highly placed sources in the BJP said that Jayasudha put in some demands before the national leadership of the party, and that she would join the party if her demands were fulfilled.
She also told the leaders that she should get a promise from them on the fulfilment of her demands if they wanted her to agree to their offer of joining the party, the sources said.
Jayasudha joined the Congress in the presence of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and won from the Secunderabad Assembly constituency as a Congress candidate in the 2009 Assembly elections. She distanced herself from the Congress after the demise of YSR. In the year 2016 she joined the TDP in the presence of its national president Chandrababu Naidu. However, she later quit the TDP and joined the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh in the presence of the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
