Actor & Jana Sena founder-president Pawan Kalyan today commenced his political padayatra from the Kondagattu Hanuman temple in Jagtial district in Telangana.
Kalyan, who reached Kondagattu in a convoy of 50 cars from Hyderabad, had a darshan of Lord Hanuman before embarking on his yatra. Jana Sena workers gave him a warm welcome at the temple. Speaking later, Kalyan said that he had escaped a potentially fatal electrocution in 2009 when he had come to Karimnagar to participate in election campaigning, because of the blessings of Lord Hanuman. He said that he had been wanting to have a darshan of the Lord after his decision to enter politics full-time, and that had finally come true today. He said he believed in Lord Hanuman, and that efforts would always be successful if one believed in Him.
The actor also announced a Rs 11 lakh donation for the temple.
The actor then reached Karimnagar as part of the first leg of his yatra. Saying that he had no intention of getting into fights with the governments, he said that he would focus only on constructive politics, and that the aim of his yatra was to know the problems of the people.
"I will not speak just to create unrest. Fights will not result in solutions for problems. I will examine the issues keenly, and will indulge in constructive politics only," he said.
The party was in a phase of institutional construction right now, and would take a decision on whom to field only after extensive internal discussions, he said.
He also said that he would tour Ananthapuram district from January 27, and that his party would contest in both the Telugu states. He said that his Ananthapuram district tour would be for three days, after which he would meet fluorosis and kidney damage victims in Ongole. Later, he would visit the Visakha agency areas and the Kovvada atomic power plant. He said that the dates of those tours would be finalized during the Ananthapuram tour.
