Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan today called upon the party workers from the city to extend their complete support to ally BJP in the upcoming GHMC elections.
He made these remarks after holding a meeting with BJP leaders Dr K Laxman and union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, at the residence of his party colleague and former speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Nadendla Manohar.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the JSP had decided to withdraw from the fray and not contest the GHMC elections keeping in view the larger interests of Hyderabad. He said that?although the JSP had planned to hold discussions with the BJP on contesting the GHMC elections together, it didn't get time to do so as the notification for the elections was issued in a sudden manner. He said that the JSP then took the decision to avoid contesting so as to not divide votes to the detriment of the BJP.
He urged the party workers to not be disappointed about the party decision, and reminded them about the alliance formed by the JSP with the BJP in the 2014 Assembly elections, and asked them to work in the same spirit considering the BJP as a friend.
He said that the party would prepare a roadmap for the future in Telangana with performance in the 2023 Assembly elections as the main goal.
