Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar today visited the Bhagyalakshmi temple in Charminar amid tension.
Bandi visited the temple after daring?CM K Chandrashekar Rao to visit the same temple and swear by the presiding deity of the temple that his allegations against him (Sanjay) were true.
The CM had alleged that Bandi had written a letter to the Election Commission urging it to stop the flood relief being given to the flood-hit victims of the capital, something that Bandi strongly refuted. The BJP leader asked KCR to swear by the goddess that he believed that his allegations were true, and offered to do the same himself (swear that they were false, that is).
Sanjay reached the temple at 12 pm and waited for KCR till 1 pm. A huge number of the party workers accompanied the state BJP chief during the visit, and the police made elaborate security arrangements in the area to avoid any untoward incidents.
Speaking to the media later, Bandi alleged that his signature had been forged on a letter written on the party letterhead, and that the letter was created as part of the election?gimmicks of the ruling party.
