Jana Reddy For All-Party Meet On Fee Reimbursement
The Assembly Opposition leader said during the Nizam rule anyone who stayed for 15 years was considered a local, but the TRS was discriminating unfairly.
Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy on Friday demanded that the Telangana government convene an all-party meeting to discuss the fee reimbursement issue.
Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Reddy said that there was no clarity on the Mulki laws for nativity.
He said that the Mulki laws were framed during 1956, and during the Nizam's government anyone who stayed in the kingdom for 15 years was considered a local.
He reminded that the people hailing from the Seemandhra region and living in Telangana were given repeated assurances that they would not be discriminated against. However, the TRS government was now trying to differentiate between students by stating that it would extend the fee reimbursement scheme only to local candidates.
Reddy also condemned the passing of amendments in the Lok Sabha related to the Polavaram project. He said that the change in the design of the Polavaram Project was a must, and injustice to Telangana would not be tolerated at any cost. (INN)
