Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Assembly K Jana Reddy on Saturday demanded an all-Party meeting on the controversies around the Hyderabad Metro.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office, Reddy said that the State government was not maintaining transparency on the issue.
He said that the government needed to be open on its communications with L&T. He also added that the government should have issued a clarification on the Raidurg land.
Jana Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should convene an all-Party meeting and place all the files related to the project before the Opposition Parties.
Further, he said that all obstacles coming in the way of Metro Rail project should be handled by involving all Parties, and that steps should be taken to ensure that no problems occured till the completion of the entire project.
The CLP leader said that the Metro Rail project was related to the people of Telangana, and that they had a right to know its real status. He said that the Chief Minister needed to break his silence on the issue and come out with a clear statement by convening an all-Party meeting.
Deputy CLP leader in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and Chevella MLA K Yadaiah were also present. (INN)
