Hyderabad Not Competing With Amaravathi: CM
Revanth Reddy appealed to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and BRS leader Vinod Rao to help advance the Metro ignoring party affiliations.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that Telangana was not competing with Amaravathi, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, but with global cities like New York and Tokyo.
The CM made this remark while unveiling Uniki, a book authored by former Maharashtra Governor and senior BJP leader Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, at a hotel in Hyderabad.
"To compete globally, we need to secure all the necessary permissions for the Hyderabad Metro Rail. Telangana, which once led the nation in Metro Rail development, has now fallen to ninth in the rankings. 60% of Telangana's income comes from Hyderabad, making the city's development integral to the State's progress. Therefore, I appeal to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and BRS leader Vinod Rao to cooperate in advancing the Metro Rail development ignoring party affiliations. We must work together for the State's progress," he said.
Reddy added that he had no differences with anyone, and was willing to meet and collaborate with all for Telangana's development.
"I have already requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support Telangana in becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy. I urged him to sanction a regional ring road and regional ring rail to help Hyderabad emerge as a global city. Additionally, I have appealed to the Union government to allocate a dry port, as Telangana is a landlocked State. I also sought the Centre's assistance in expediting the completion of the Kazipet Railway Coach Factory," the CM said.
The Chief Minister said that Rao was an expert in maximising the use of the Godavari waters, and requested him to address the issue of land submergence with Maharashtra. "The Telangana government will seek Vidyasagar Rao's support for land acquisition near Thummadihatti for the construction of a barrage on Godavari," Reddy added.
Addressing the current political climate, the CM said that a lack of ideology in political leaders had led to an increase in party defections, with leaders switching parties just for posts. The revival of ideological student politics was needed to counter this trend, he said.
