Former minister K Jana Reddy on Thursday accused the BJP-led NDA government of trying to aggravating the problems related to the Polavaram Project issue.
Speaking to media persons at his residence in Hyderabad, Reddy said that the Centre took a hasty decision in issuing the ordinance to merge 7 mandals of the Khammam district with the Seemandhra region for the Polavaram irrigation project.
Instead of reviewing the problems, the Centre is trying to aggravate them, he said.
"The Polavaram dam is a contentious issue between Telangana and Seemandhra, and Centre's one-sided move will escalate the differences between them," he stated.
Jana Reddy accused TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu of blackmailing the NDA on the issue. He alleged that Naidu was trying to reap political gains out of this issue. (INN)
