Congress MLA T Jagga Reddy today came down heavily on the AICC Telangana incharge Manickam Tagore and TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, and alleged that the two leaders were not following the suggestions of the other leaders of the state.
He also alleged that both Tagore and Revanth Reddy were conveying their own concerns and fears to the national president of the party Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, instead of those of the broader party leadership and the party's rank and file.
Speaking to media persons after taking part in a special meeting of the senior leaders of the party at a hotel in Hyderabad - something of a rebel meeting that needed to be truncated midway - Jagga Reddy said that the leaders had discussed the steps to be taken to avoid a humiliating defeat for the party in Telangana akin to what was witnessed in the recent Punjab elections.
Replying to a question, he also said that the leaders who had assembled were ready to respond to any kind of showcause notice issued to them. He also added that no leader of the party had the courage to suspend them from the party, and warned that he would expose the secret deeds of his rivals in the party if he was suspended.
Flagrantly daring Revanth Reddy to suspend him, he said that he was ready to quit from his MLA post if Reddy accepted his challenge and suspended him, and that he would in fact treat Revanth Reddy as a hero if the latter could field another party leader and ensure his victory in his (Jagga Reddy's) Assembly constituency Sangareddy. He also alleged that Revanth Reddy was not a follower the ideology of the party.
Jagga Reddy however said that he would be remain loyal to the party high command even if he was suspended.
