Kadapa: Ravindra Reddy Slams Jagan
Congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency seat D L Ravindra Reddy has charged that Jagan had never raised peoples' issues in Parliament.
D L Ravindra Reddy, who is the proposed Congress candidate to contest for the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency seat, on Sunday accused former MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of not raising the problems faced by the people of the district in Parliament during his (Jagan's) stint as an MP.
Launching the election campaign with his supporters at Khazipeta in the district, Ravindra Reddy stated that Jagan has no moral right to seek votes from the people of the constituency since he had earlier failed to highlight their problems in Parliament.
"As an MP, he had never raised his voice in Parliament to fight for the people in his constituency. This shows the level of commitment he has for the people and their welfare," the Minister said. "Why will the people of Kadapa want to cast their votes for Jaganmohan Reddy after being cheated by him?" he added.
The Congress candidate further alleged that the former MP had resigned from the Lok Sabha seat and from the party because the Congress High Command had preferred not to entrust the responsibility of the Chief Minister's post to him after the demise of his father and former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Ravindra Reddy added that the people of Kadapa will give a fitting lesson to Jagan and former Pulivendula MLA Y S Vijayalakshmi by rejecting them in the by-elections.
The Minister further expressed confidence that the Congress candidates would win the elections with ease. (INN)
