YSR Congress Party president and Leader Of Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who suffered a knife injury inflicted by a canteen worker in the Visakhapatnam airport lounge on Thursday, was discharged from City Neuro Hospital in Hyderabad today.
He was advised rest till the wound healed.
Speaking to mediapersons today, Dr Siva Reddy said that the condition of the YSR Congress Party chief remained stable. The gaping injury on Jagan's left shoulder was closed with three sutures and it would take some time to heal, he said. He added that Jagan was given a pain-killer injection on Thursday night when he complained of pain.
Dr Reddy said that Jagan's blood samples were sent to a laboratory, and that the reports were awaited. Jagan would have to keep visiting the hospital till the injury was completely healed, the doctor said.
It may be recalled that Jagan was attacked by Srinivas Rao, a waiter at the Visakhapatnam airport lounge cafeteria, on October 25. The attacker attempted to stab Jagan with a sharp knife after getting close on the pretext of taking a selfie with him. Jagan was administered first-aid after which he left for Hyderabad where he was admitted to the Citi Neuro Hospital in Banjara Hills.
A large number of YSRCP workers, leaders, supporters and the general public thronged the hospital to get a glimpse of the YSRCP chief.
Upon discharge, Jagan proceeded to his residence at Lotus Pond nearby.
