YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday began his "Samara Deeksha" in Mangalgiri by garlanding the statue of his father, former CM late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
A large number of people welcomed Jagan with cheers and slogans as he walked on the stage.
Jagan's two-day deeksha is aimed at highlighting the "failures" of the TDP government, which he claimed has turned unpopular even before completing one year in office as it had failed to fulfill its election promises and had disappointed all sections of the people.
YRSCP MPs and MLAs accompanied Jagan. YSRCP leader Vasireddy Padma sang the Vande Matram song before Jagan started his Deeksha. (NSS)
