The YSR Congress Party on Thursday appealed to the people and the party cadre not to lose heart over the rejection of bail to the party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, and asked them to remain calm and considerate with patience till he comes out on bail.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters here, YSRCP Political Affairs Committee Coordinator Konatala Ramakrishna and party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu agreed that the leaders and the public were disappointed to some extent as bail was refused to Jagan. "But we will fight with renewed vigor," they vowed.
They exuded confidence that Jagan would come out of jail as he had done no wrong.
"This is a political game being played by the TDP and the Congress," they charged, adding that going by preliminary reports, the CBI had been given a deadline of 4 months by the Supreme Court for completing the investigation in the case.
The YSR Congress would expose the nexus of the TDP and the Congress with the help of the people, they said, asking the two parties to fight the local body elections with party symbols. "YRSCP will trounce them," they claimed.
Charging that CBI Advocate Ashok Bhan was speaking like a Congress spokesperson, they said that the Supreme Court itself found fault with the CBI and its arguments in the lower courts.
The CBI was thoroughly misleading the courts by showing the misappropriation of funds as Rs. 40,000 crores first and then mentioning the same as Rs. 1,030 crores in its affidavits again, Ramakrishna and Rambabu alleged.
"The CBI has been misleading the courts, and this is evident from the Supreme Court's remarks," they averred. (INN)
