The Andhra Pradesh High Court, on Wednesday, quashed the CBI's petition seeking the cancellation of bail to Jagathi Publications vice chairman and financial auditor V Vijay Sai Reddy, who was accused number 2 in the disproportionate assets case of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Quashing the CBI's petition, the court concurred with Vijay Sai Reddy's counsel's observation that his client is a professional auditor and not a criminal.
Earlier, the CBI argued that Vijay Sai Reddy would tamper with the evidence and influence witnesses if granted bail.
However, it failed to submit its arguments with substantial proof, the court said.
It may be mentioned here that the CBI special court granted conditional bail to Vijay Sai Reddy on 13 April. Opposing the bail, the CBI filed a petition in the High court, seeking a cancellation of the bail plea.(INN)
