Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today sought the forgiveness of the residents of his Assembly constituency Pulivendla for having wronged them knowingly or unknowingly.
The CM, who is currently on a tour of the rural constituency, made these remarks after laying the foundation stone for a new bus stand and bus depot.
Speaking on the occasion, he thanked the people displaced by the Gandikota and Pothireddypadu reservoirs, and said that it was only due to their sacrifices that the many people affected by water scarcity in Rayalseema would now be able to get water easily.
Reddy reassured the displaced people that the government would do its best to offset their losses, and would always work towards their welfare.
He then announced that the state government would soon start a project for the supply of drinking water in the uranium-affected villages of the region.
While there, the CM also said that the state government would be allocating Rs 14.5 crore for the development of the state's Anjaneya Swamy temple.
