Won't Rest Till Statehood: Kodandaram

The TRS would continue its fight for Telangana, whatever be the outcome of the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission report, says Kondandaram.
Hyderabad | 31st December 2010
Telangana Joint Action Committee Convenor Kodandaram said that a meeting would be held late on Friday, to chalk out the course of action in the New Year, to intensify the struggle for a Telangana state.

Talking to media persons after attending a meeting with educationists in Sangareddy in Medak district on Friday, Kodandaram appealed to the people in the region to herald the New Year by lighting candles.

He said the TRS would take out a series of massive candle-lit processions in the Telangana region from Friday to January 5.

Kodandaram also called on village panchayats and gram panchayats to pass resolutions demanding the introduction of a bill in Parliament on Telangana. He said the TRS would stage dharnas in all mandal headquarters on January 5, demanding the introduction of the bill. The dharnas would culminate in submissions of memorandums to respective officials, he said.

The Telangana ideologue appealed to political parties to mount pressure on the centre for carving out a Telangana state at the proposed all-party meeting scheduled to be held on January 6 in New Delhi.

He added that the TRS would continue its fight for the introduction of a Telangana bill in Parliament, whatever be the outcome of the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission report.

The TJAC convenor further called on students and others not to commit suicides for the Telangana cause.
