Telangana Political JAC chairman M Kodandaram demanded that the State government to restart Nizam Sugars and resolve the issues of its former employees.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Kodandaram said that the workers had lost their livelihoods due to the unit's closure. He demanded the State government pay 13 months' salaries to the factory's ex-workers.
He reminded the State government that it, too, had a 40% stake in Nizam Sugars, and hence must help restore the factory and help its ex-labourers at least on humanitarian grounds.
