Ivanka Trump, daughter and Advisor to US President Donald Trump, arrived in Hyderabad in the early hours of Tuesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, to a warm welcome.
Though she has been to India before, this is her first big solo outing in the international stage as President Trump's advisor. She is leading a 350-member US delegation to the Global Entrepreneur Summit 2017, the eighth edition of the global event which is being held for the first time in South Asia.
Her delegation comprises of top administration officials and a large number of Indian-Americans.
On arrival at the airport Ivanka Trump was received by US Ambassador to India Kenneth I Juster, US Consul General in Hyderabad Katherine B Hadda, Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and other top officials.
Amidst a five-tier security ring provided to her by US Secret Service personnel, the Special Protection Group of the Government of India, and the Grey Hounds and Octopus services of Telangana, she drove to Trident Hotel in a specially built limousine.
A tight security blanket was imposed in the routes she travelled on from the airport to the hotel.
Despite it being the early hours, strict traffic regulations were also made.
Trump will leave Trident Hotel at 3:30 pm for HICC to attend the inauguration of GES 2017 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 4:30 pm. Along with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, she will be attending the summit as a guest of honour. She will stay at HICC till 5:30 pm and then leave for her hotel.
At 8 pm again she will leave for Falaknuma Palace to take part in the special dinner being hosted in her honour by the Prime Minister, and leave for her hotel at 10.40 pm.
