Leaders of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Saturday lashed out at the Congress party members for their remarks on the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 and IT Minister K T Rama Rao.
The party also flayed the Congress for lending support to TJAC chairman M Kodandaram's Koluvulakai Kotlata protest meeting against the state government.
Speaking to the media, TRS MP B Suman and party whip Palla Rajeshwar Reddy termed the Congress' remarks that the GES was held to help give KTR an international profile as baseless, and said that not only the TRS but the entire state of Telangana had been launched onto the world arena due to the global summit.
As many as eight other states had wanted to conduct the summit, but the Central government granted permission to Telangana to host GES 2017, they claimed.
They accused the Congress leaders of just being envious of the TRS for getting such an international event to Hyderabad, and for successfully hosting it after that.
"While the entire world is showering praises on the state government for successfully holding the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, a demoralized Congress is unable to digest the feat," they said.
The TRS leaders also slammed the Telangana units of the Congress and the BJP for extending support to TJAC chief Kodandaram's Koluvulakai Kotlata protest.
"The youth and students should not fall prey to Kodandaram's so-called 'fight for jobs' protests as the government is filling the vacant posts," the TRS leaders said.
Alleging that some politically unemployed persons were engineering protests to misguide the youth of the state, the leaders said that the government would fill 1.12 lakh vanacies soon.
"Of these, 27,000 posts have been already filled," they said.
