IT Officials Seize Rs. 142 Crore Of Hetero Drugs

Income tax department officials today seized Rs. 142 crore of cash from 16 bank lockers belonging to city-based pharma company Hetero Drugs.

The department has been conducting raids on the offices of the company for the past four days.

The raids have been conducted at 50 different places in six states of the country, and officials of the department have seized hard disks, pen drives and other electronic devices during the raids.

They also discovered that the company had destroyed some evidence, and that the management had prepared many fake invoices and had also acquired huge plots of land using illegal money.

The department is still inquiring into another Rs. 550 crore.
