BJP state president G Kishan Reddy has demanded that the Centre invite the presidents of all political parties for the all-party meeting on Telangana to be held on December 28.
Addressing a press conference after the party's core committee meeting at the state BJP Headquarters at Nampally, Kishan Reddy said that he had written a letter to union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, requesting him to invite Sonia Gandhi (Congress), N Chandrababu Naidu (TDP) and Y S Vijayalakshmi (YSRCP) to participate in the all-party meeting. He said that parties' stances on Telangana would be clear if the presidents themselves attend the all-party meeting.
Kishan Reddy said that the BJP has already clarified its position in favour of Telangana in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. He said that therefore, the Congress, instead of seeking the views of other parties, should spell out its own stance.
The BJP leader also said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi must clarify its stance on the Telangana issue, because while it had an alliance with the Congress in 2004, it had also aligned with the TDP in 2009.
Kishan Reddy also said that if PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, Chandrababu Naidu and Vijayamma were in favour of Telangana, then the BJP would join them in holding an all-party dharna before the Parliament demanding a separate state.
BJP floor leader E Lakshminarayana was also present at the press conference. (INN)
