The cricket enthusiasts of the port town on Tuesday made a beeline for the YSR Cricket Stadium at P M Palem and to the e-Seva counters in the city, to purchase the tickets for second one-day international cricket match to be played between India and West Indies on Dec 2.
To the surprise of the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association, the tickets were sold out within a hour of the opening of the counters.
Apart from selling tickets at 21 e-seva counters, the Association had opened two special counters for the sale of tickets at the YSR Cricket Stadium at P M Palem.
Cricket buffs thronged the counters since the wee hours, and stood in serpentine queues for long hours.
The Association has sold 15,000 tickets in the denominations of Rs. 200, Rs. 500, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 1,500, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 3,000.
The Association also sold Rs. 100 tickets to local cricket clubs and their players.
