The first virology lab of the country to help in the battle against the spread of the novel coronavirus has been set up in Hyderabad.
Union Minister of State for Home affairs G Kishan Reddy launched the lab through a video conference from New Delhi.
State IT Minister K T Rama Rao also took part in the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy complimented the founders of the lab. He also opined that the severity of the coronavirus would not have be so serious had there not been the Markaz event. He called upon the people of the country to fight together to drive the virus out of the country.
KTR said that the Telangana government was taking all possible steps for the containment of the coronavirus in the state. He pointed out that the government had set up a Covid-19 specific hospital at Gachibowli in just 20 days.
