Telangana is going to witness an intense spell of heavy rains over the next three days, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert for the State.
The IMD said that there was a possibility of rains with thunder, lightning and gusty winds in many districts including Hyderabad from September 23 to 25.
"The sky will be cloudy in Hyderabad for the next three days, and light to moderate rains, thunder and lightning showers are likely at many places in the city. A yellow alert has been issued for Tuesday, and the people are urged to stay cautious as the conditions are expected to intensify on that day. The people of the low-lying areas need to be vigilant," the IMD said.
On Sunday, Hyderabad and several other districts of Telangana received heavy rains. Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district recorded the highest rainfall of 103.3 mm. The Golconda area in Hyderabad also registered a significant rainfall - 91.3 mm, the highest recorded in the city for the day.
