HYDRA officials said that over 10,000 young girls and women were studying in the college for free, and so the structure would not be demolished.

The HYDRAA authorities have clarified their stance on MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi's Fatima College, built on the Salakam Cheruvu lands in Hyderabad. They stated that no action was being taken against the college because it provided free education to poor students, particularly girls.
Responding to criticism over the delay in the college's demolition, officials said, "Many are asking why Fatima College, owned by Akbaruddin Owaisi, is not being demolished. Last September, we had stated that the college was built in an FTL (Full Tank Level) area and that we would attempt to remove it. However, this institution runs classes from KG to PG exclusively for underprivileged Muslim girls. More than 10,000 young girls and women are studying here, and no fees are charged. It is helping uplift the backward sections through education."
"We are therefore not taking action against this college because of its social value. However, we are taking strict action against illegal properties belonging to MIM leaders. We have already demolished massive illegal structures owned by MIM MLAs and MLCs. We even razed structures belonging to a close associate of the Owaisi family, who had illegally converted a 25-acre lake into flats. So far, we've recovered assets worth around Rs 1,000 crore from MIM leaders, including land from an MIM corporator in Chandrayangutta. Fatima College has been spared due to social reasons, and we are adopting a soft approach as it operates with social responsibility," they said.
Earlier, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay had made sensational remarks on the issue. He objected to Hyderabad Commissioner A V Ranganath's statement on X, where the latter had said that Fatima College would not be demolished. Sanjay had asked whether this was the government's decision or a personal decision by the official. "Chief Minister Revanth Reddy must clarify what injustice would occur if Fatima College were demolished," he had asked.
