The Hyderabad traffic police today helped transport a live heart rapidly from Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, by enabling non-stop movement for the ambulance carrying the organ.
The distance between the hospital and the airport is 35 km, and the ambulance reached its destination in 30 minutes.
The traffic police arranged a "green channel" for the transportation of the organ. The medical team carrying live organ left at 12:33 pm from Yashoda Hospital and reached the airport at 1:03 pm.
The hospital authorities applauded the efforts of the Hyderabad and Cyberabad traffic police in enabling the transportation in just a half hour.
