Tattapally Ravikanth Reddy, Mohd Asif Ali and Uppari Ranga Raju were supplying back-dated fake education certificates.
Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of Hyderabad Police Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone team, along with the Musheerabad police, busted an inter-state fake education certificates supply racket and apprehended six accused.
Among the accused were Tattapally Ravikanth Reddy, Mohd Asif Ali and Uppari Ranga Raju, who, along with Ketan Singh, an Asst Professor in the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University of Bhopal, supplied back-dated fake education certificates and gained illegal easy money. The remaining three were students buying certificates.
The police seized material and fake educational certificates, 40 rubber stamps of various colleges and government offices used for the forgery of the documents, five cell phones, two CPUs and other incriminating material from the trio.
Police said that Tattapally Ravikanth Reddy working as a consultancy agent, helping students with admissions. He became friends with Mohd Asif Ali of Sadhana College and Uppari Ranga Raju, an education consultancy agent.
The trio came into contact with Ketan Singh and started the racket. They used to collect information of dropouts, failed students and students with backlogs, and promise them B. Tech., B. Sc., B. Com. and other certificates from Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University, Bhopal.
They used to collect Rs. 3,00,000 for B. Tech., Rs. 1,50,000 for B. Sc. and Rs. 1,00,000 for B. A. / B. Com. / other degree certificates.
They recently collected amounts from nine students and sent the details to Singh, who in turn dispatched five students' certificates with four certificates yet to be dispatched. When the accused were delivering the certificates to the students on Friday, the police, acting on a tip-off, apprehended them and three students.
The arrested along with the seized material were handed over to the SHO, Musheerabad police station for further action.
