Giving a break-up, the CP said a total of 273 drugs cases had been registered in the State capital so far in 2022, and that the police had arrested 1,082 in the cases including 13 foreigners.
791 persons had been rescued under Operation Smile this year, compared to 910 last year, Anand said. 74 girls and 717 children were among those rescued.
2,249 cyber crime cases were registered in 2022, and 226 cases had been successfully cracked so far, Anand claimed. Of the 92 hacking cases reported so far, eight cases had been cracked, he added.
Commenting on ATM, debit and credit card fraud cases, the CP said that a total of 386 cases under those heads had been reported so far this year, and the police were able to solve 35 of them so far.
68 cases related to communal hate-filled posts online had been registered so far, and four had been solved, he said.
The police were also able to solve five matrimonial cases out of the 11 registered, he added.
Speaking about cases registered by the Task Force wing of the city, Arvind said that it had registered 1,703 cases and arrested 3,187 people.
Talking about crimes against women, the CP said that the SHE teams had received 2,292 complaints in the current year, compared to 2,766 complaints in the last year. In addition, a total of 2,524 cases involving crimes against women were registered under the Commissionerate limits, with 296 rape cases, 126 kidnap cases and 1,418 women harassment cases among them.
Property worth Rs 25 crore had been reported stolen so far this year, and the police had recovered 62% of it, Anand said.
He also said that the police had opened 91 new rowdy sheets this year.
