Taking a serious note of the seizing of banned drugs at the Pudding & Mink pub of the Raddison Blu hotel in Banjara Hills, City Commissioner of Police C V Anand today suspended the inspector (SHO) of the Banjara Hills police station P Shiva Chandra for "negligence towards legitimate duties in the control of narcotics in pubs and bars".
The CP also issued a Charge Memo to the Banjara Hills ACP M Sudarshan for the same reason, and asked him to submit his explanation on the issue.
Local people residing in and around the pub had reportedly been complaining that the pub had become a headache for them ever since it started its operations, and alleged that the CI did not respond to their repeated complaints on the issue.
Hours after the suspension of the inspector, the CP also issued orders appointing North Zone Task Force inspector Nageswara Rao as the inspector of the Banjara Hills police station.
A team led by Rao had conducted the decoy operation and busted the drugs trafficking racket at the hotel.
Rao reportedly has a record of solving several sensational cases.
