Communist Party Of India (CPI) MLA Sambasiva Rao, on Thursday, demanded that the state government release a white paper on the allocation of 65 acres of land in Hyderabad's surroundings to various firms - an allocation that violated rules and regulations.
Talking to media persons at the Assembly media point, the CPI MLA demanded that the government order a judicial probe into the issue to get a comprehensive report, as land worth Rs. 2,030 crore was misappropriated.
He suspected the involvement of ministers, MLAs and influential officials in the allotment.
Sambasiva Rao demanded that the government take severe action against those found guilty in the land misappropriations, and take back lands from their possession.
If the government fails to reclaim the lands, the CPI would take over those lands and distribute them among poor people, he said. (INN)
