The police have tuned strict in the enforcement of the ongoing lockdown in the state following the orders of the Chief Minister, stating that no person should be on roads after 10:10 am.
They have intensified the vehicle checking drive both in the state capital and in all the districts of the state, and are seizing vehicles which don't have passes and permissions.
The DGP M Mahender Reddy himself made a surprise inspection at Kukatpally. City police commissioner Anjani Kumar went to the Punjagutta, Banjara Hills and Begumpet areas, and the Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat went to the Uppal area.
The police also cracked the whip on delivery agents of food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy. They seized the vehicles of the delivery boys at multiple places including Khairatabad, the Patny crossroads and the L B Nagar cross roads. As a result, the food delivery agents staged a protest program and told the police that they had exemption from the ongoing lockdown. The police however claimed that they were seizing the vehicles of only those who were roaming around on the roads without any orders exempting them.
