The city police on Friday granted conditional permission to the YSR Congress Party to conduct a public meeting at the L B Stadium on October 26.
According to Central Zone DCP V B Kamalasan Reddy, the permission was granted in view of the High Court's orders that the YSRCP be allowed to hold the meeting on October 19.
As the party has postponed the meeting to October 26, it would be allowed to conduct the meet on that date, from 2pm to 5pm. However, the city police have imposed around 19 conditions for YSRCP?s proposed public meeting.
"As per the Supreme Court of India's judgement, the organizer will be held responsible for damage and destruction to private and public properties and other consequences to the meeting held," the DCP said.
He also warned that the permission would be cancelled if there was any sort of disturbance to law and order / peace and public tranquility / communal harmony in the city.
Also, the entry of participants to the meeting venue in processions or rallies has been banned. The party has been asked to obtain permission from the concerned authority to use the L B Stadium for the meeting.
The organiser, YSRCP State IT Convener Challa Madhusudhan Reddy, has been asked to furnish an undertaking that no inflammatory speeches and no incitement to any offence will be attempted at the meeting (by the speakers / leaders), and that no private or public property will be destroyed / damaged in the process of conducting the public meeting.
The DCP stated that there are inputs that some anti-social elements are likely to mingle with the participants in the stadium, and may cause disturbance and indulge in violence. (INN)
