Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Sunday assured that the safety and security of the RTC employees who were willing to rejoin duties would be taken care of.
The Commissioner said that all the bus depots had been provided with sufficient protection under the leadership of Inspectors, and that anyone trying to take law into their own hands would be dealt with firmly.
Those attempting to damage public property or forcibly prevent workers willing to join duties would be arrested on the spot, he warned.
Separately, Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, too, made similar assurances - he said that RTC employees working in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits could rejoin duties without any fear or apprehension, and that the police would ensure their safety and security.
Sajjanar also warned of strict action against anyone who attempted to prevent the willing staff from rejoining duties. RTC workers who wished to return to the city, if prevented or threatened by anyone, could report the matter to the local police station, he said. They could also dial 100 or make use of the Cyberabad police WhatsApp number 9490617444, he added.
Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, too, asked the striking TSRTC workers to resume their duties without fear. He assured protection to all those reporting to their duties, and warned those planning to stop or prevent any TSRTC employees who wanted to rejoin duties.
"Stringent action will be initiated against anyone preventing any employee from joining duty. Our Inspectors and other officers are present at all the bus depots and terminals, and anyone trying to cause any trouble will be arrested and prosecuted," he said.
Bhagwat, too, asked TSRTC employees to contact the nearest police station or Dial 100 in case they needed any assistance from the police.
