As the Old City witnessed sporadic acts of violence throughout the weekend, Chief Minister K Rosaiah held a review meeting on law and order on Sunday afternoon. The meeting was attended by home minister Sabita Indra Reddy, DGP R R Girish Kumar, Police Commissioner A K Khan and IG Intelligence M Mahendra Reddy. The CM called upon them to restore peace within the city immediately.
While directing the home minister to convene peace committee meetings and talk to the elected representatives, he also asked the police authorities to restore law & order and communal harmony, and to ensure that no other incidents take place ahead of the Hanuman Jayanti 2010 celebrations scheduled for Tuesday, 30th March.

The police has imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Section 144 bans assembly of 5 or more persons) in the South Zone and Ghoshamahal division of West Zone police limits.
City Police Commissioner A K Khan, admitting to a shortage of forces to control violence at Moosabowli on Saturday night, explained the delay of deployment of additional forces in troubled areas, saying that they were deployed at other places. He also stated that the communal violence in the old city was pre-planned.
The CM has appealed to the citizens of the twin cities to show tolerance & restraint, and maintain peace within the city.
