The activists went to submit a representation to education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy urging her to postpone the TET scheduled to be held on June 12.
Activists of the NSUI were arrested by city police today in a protest over the upcoming TET.
The activists led by NSUI's state president Balmuri Venkat went to submit a representation to the state education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy urging her to postpone the exam scheduled to be held on June 12.
Venkat said that the RRB exam was also scheduled on the same date, and that job aspirants would miss out on one of the job opportunities if both the tests were scheduled on the same day.
He said that it would be impossible to get a national level exam like the RRB one postponed, and that the state government should therefore postpone the TET exam.
He claimed that the NSUI leaders were trying to meet the minister to request for that, but did not get an appointment with her even after making several efforts.
He claimed that activists of the union were illegally arrested by the police just for trying to meet the minister.
He warned that the NSUI would not keep silent on the issue, and that it would hold a massive protest on it soon.
