Man Gets 5-Year Jail For Trying To Murder Son
Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi, 42, was convicted and sentenced to five years' rigorous imprisonment for attempting to murder his son Mohammed Khaled Qureshi, 18.
One Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi, 42, of Jalpally village under Balapur mandal, was convicted and sentenced to five years' rigorous imprisonment for attempting to murder his son Mohammed Khaled Qureshi, 18, on March 5, following family disputes.
The prosecution said that while the victim was sleeping alone in his house, the accused, his father, chopped his right hand's wrist with a butcher's knife, due to which the son had to undergo amputation of his right hand.
Following a complaint, the Pahadisharif police registered a case under Section 307 IPC. After completion of investigation into the case, the police filed a charge-sheet in court.
After the trial, the IInd ACJ at L B Nagar today convicted Qayyum Qureshi and gave him rigorous imprisonment for five years, and also ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 1,000.
