The TS-NAB along with the Panjagutta Police today apprehended an international drug peddler who was in possession of various narcotic drugs, and seized 557 gram of cocaine, 902 ecstasy pills weighing 390 gram, 105 LSD blots, 215 gram of charas, 21 gram of heroine, seven gram of amphetamine, 45 gram of OG weed and 190 gram of weed, and eight cell phones, worth Rs 8 crore in all, from his possession.
The accused was identified as Iwuala Udoka Stanley, living in Candolim, Bardez, North Goa, and native of No 23, Ichida Street, Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Police said that Stanley had come to India in November 2009 on a business visa, and took shelter at Andheri, Mumbai. He lived with his friend Jewel and started a readymade clothes business in Mumbai. After a year, he moved to Candolim, and started the same business.
As many Nigerians stay in Goa, Stanley used to regularly meet them and became friends with many of them. After noticing that many of them were earning huge money by selling drugs, he too started buying cocaine and other drugs from some of them and started selling them to tourists in Candolim.
The TS-NAB team members, who were in watch at Goa for over a month to identify the person behind this, identified him on watching his movements and activities. The team also came to know that Stanley was going to visit Hyderabad to supply drugs to some known consumers and also deal in drugs in the city. On a tip-off, the team along with the assistance of the Panjagutta police apprehended Stanley and seized the above drugs in his possession.
The seized material was handed over to the SHO, Panjagutta police station, for further investigation.
