The special court for ACB cases, on Thursday, directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau Director General to probe certain irregularities in the functioning of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
The directions were issued by the ACB court after a petition was filed by Advocate Ranga Rao. The petition sought a probe into the irregularities, which are to the tune of Rs. 200 crores. The cited aberrations were reported to have taken place during Shivlal Yadav's tenure as the HCA's vice-president.
The court also directed the Director General to file cases against the 22 persons involved.
The Director General has been instructed to submit a comprehensive report on the irregularities before May 9th.
Earlier, the state government had ordered a departmental inquiry into the allegations that the funds meant for the construction of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal were misappropriated by the HCA during the term of Shivlal Yadav.
The CCS police had registered a case under Section 420 (cheating) and a few other sections on the alleged irregularities in the association. (INN)
