Constable Drowns In Water Sump

The sleepy constable might have fallen in the sump while trying to draw water from it.
Hyderabad | 10th August 2010
Rajendranagar police are investigating the suspicious death of a police constable whose body was discovered in the water sump at his residence on Monday.

According to police, the body of constable Anand Kumar (45) was discovered in the water sump in his residence at Vikas Nagar, Bandlaguda, in Rajendranagar, on Monday morning.

Anand Kumar was missing since late Sunday night. He was attached to the office of the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police.

Initial investigations have led police to surmise that the sleepy constable might have fallen in the sump while trying to draw water from it.

The empty overhead tank and the lack of water in the bathroom have led to this suspicion being strengthened.

The police assume that he had drowned after falling in the sump, but are reluctant to make any official statement till they get the autopsy report.

A case has been registered, and further investigations are on.
