In a swift and coordinated operation, the Chandanagar police, Serilingampally CCS and Cyberabad SOT arrested a chain-snatching offender within 24 hours of the crime and recovered the stolen gold.
According to DCP Ch Srinivas Kumar, on January 31, a complaint was received that an unidentified offender had snatched a gold chain from a 72-year-old woman while she was returning home via the Ramalayam temple road in Old MIG Colony, BHEL.
Shortly thereafter, another complaint was reported from a nearby location, wherein an unidentified offender snatched a gold chain from a 73-year-old woman who was also returning via the same road.
Upon receiving the two complaints, the Chandanagar police, along with teams from the Serilingampally CCS and SOT Cyberabad, swung into action, and arrested the accused within 24 hours of the offence, and recovered the stolen property intact.
