A car that was driving from Shamshabad to Gachibowli via the Outer Ring Road (ORR) caught fire today.
Other vehicles travelling on the same road noticed the flames and that the driver was trapped inside. An auto-rickshaw driver and a lorry driver took the driver of the car out. Unfortunately, however, he sustained severe burns. He was rushed to a hospital close by in a 108 vehicle.
The victim has been identified as Srikanth, a native of Kothur mandal's Thimmapur village, in Rangareddy district. The condition of the victim is reportedly critical right now.
A group of fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The Shamshabad police also went to the accident site. According to them, the incident occurred in the wee hours of the day.
"When the Indica in which Srikanth was travelling reached Airport Colony, he noticed smoke billowing out of the car. So, he stopped the vehicle. But, before he could get out, flames engulfed the Indica," police officials revealed.
A few days ago, rear wheels of a
TSRTC bus that was carrying 40 passengers came off while it was travelling through Yadadri Bhuvanagari. Fortunately, the driver's alertness saved the day. The incident took place when the vehicle was going towards Torrur from Hyderabad.
