Ministers Danam Nagendar and Mukesh Goud on Sunday condemned the rumours making rounds that the government plans to make Hyderabad a Union Territory.
Talking to media persons, Nagendar said that Hyderabad was a part of Telangana region and was the capital city of Telangana region.
Nagender also agreed with Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao's demand that Hyderabad should be a part of the State of Telangana in case the State was bifurcated.
The minister added that if the Central government announced Hyderabad as a Union Territory, it would not be welcomed by the people of Telangana.
Nagender foresaw many problems which would be insolvable if Hyderabad was made a Union Territory.
In another press meet, BC Welfare Minister Mukesh Goud said that the people of Telangana would not accept Hyderabad as a Union Territory.
Goud also stated that he would participate in the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations in his capacity as a cabinet minister. He also criticized threats of disruption of the celebrations by various Telangana outfits.
The minister further added that no power could stop the ministers from attending the Andhra Pradesh State formation day program.
